I already filed my taxes and filed income as additional income. However, I just received a 1099 for that same income. Do I need to refile?

What kind of 1099?   There are many types.   1099-DIV, 1099-INT, 1099-B, 1099-R, 1099-MISC, 1099-G, etc.

What do you mean by "additional income".   Are you referring to "other income", such as would be reported on Line 21 of your Form 1040?    Where is this income showing up on your return?

I claimed it as short schedule SE. It's a 1099-MISC

I don't understand what you did.   That form is for Self-Employment Tax.  Is this business income, and if so, did you use a Schedule C-EZ for business income?   On what form is it reported in your return, and on what line does it show up on the Form 1040?    Also, in what Box of the 1099-MISC is the income reported?

I don't either... I used Turbo Tax and answered the questions asked..... I was contracted out to do some PR work for a few different times a year. It is listed under section A of a short schedule SE on my tax form. The 1099 - MISC income is listed in box 7 (nonemployee compensation)

Where does it show on the Form 1040?  Is there a Schedule C-EZ in your return?
What Line of the Schedule SE does it show up on?   Is it Line 2?

Also, is the amount on the 1099-MISC the same as the amount you reported on the return?

Yes it is a Schedule C-EZ Form 1040. It shows up on line 2 and 3, along with income from another contract job. The 1099-MISC amount was for $1000, I also was paid $160 for another contract job. The C-EZ total is $1160

You still have not mentioned the Form 1040, but I suspect you see $1160 on the 1040, Line 12.  Is that correct?

It looks like what you reported already as "business income" on Schedule C-EZ agrees with the Form 1099-MISC.  It looks to me like you have the income and the self-employment tax covered.    I'm not a tax person, however.  Now that I have acquired all the info,  I'll ask someone to look this thread over and see if they think you are OK.  It may or may not be tonight.

Yes, it is on line 12 on the 1040... Sorry I misunderstood that. Thank you so much for your help so far!

^5 to @Zbucklyo You should move your comment to answer since it curtly summarizes the whole thing.

Your total net income from self-employment should show up on Line 12 of Form 1040.  If that number is correct, you do not need to enter the 1099-misc form, since you've already accounted for that income in your filing.
