I already filed my federal tax return and got my refund. Because of unemployment I had to amend my federal tax return. How do I know how much more money I should get?

Look at the amended return you filed. Any refund is on the Form 1040-X Line 22

I found the amount on the line. Thank you! I just entered it into refund status with the IRS and it said the information is not correct.

You must use the ORIGINAL refund amount on the IRS site not the corrected amount.

I didn't say that ... but you did not have to amend the federal return for the unemployment as they are processing those over the summer. And until the IRS processes the original return the amended will sit unopened and will only be processed if the return has not already been corrected. Amended returns will most likely take 6 months or more to process this year so just sit tight.

You cannot check the status of an amended tax return on this IRS website - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
