I accidentally submitted my tax returns with my wrong last name (previous married name), how can I correct this?

If you already have e-file and your return is in “Pending” status, you won't be able to make any changes. You must wait until the IRS accepts it or rejects it. 

If is rejected, go to your TurboTax account. Go back to your profile and review and update your name information from the very beginning. Delete your name completely and then enter it again, and save it.

Also remove any space in your name, if there’s one, because TurboTax reads spaces like extra characters and that can cause errors.

Make sure your name matches exactly with a Social Security Record. 

If the IRS has accepted the return, you cannot change the information. You may amend your return.
