I accidentally put my daughter is adopted. How do I delete that?

You will need to change your child's status in the personal information section of your return and delete any forms related to the adoption credit (if applicable).

Follow the directions below to change your child's status.

1. Log in and click take me to my return (unless already in).
2. Click the My Info tab from the left-side menu.
3. On the next screen, you will see your personal information listed. Click Edit beside your child's name.
4. On the next screen titled What's (your child's) relationship to you, select My Child and click continue.
5. On the next screen titled Tell us about (your child), select None of the above. View the (screenshots) below for reference.

Follow the directions below to delete form 8839:

1. Click Tax Tools from the left-side menu and select Tools from the drop-down menu.
2. Click the Delete A Form hyperlink.
3. Click Delete beside Form 8863 and any other adoption-related forms listed such as the adoptive child worksheet.
