I accidentally added childcare cost to my taxes when it didn’t start until 2023. So, I can’t claim any of it this year! How do I remove that so I can complete taxes?

You are correct that if you didn't start making childcare payments until 2023, you could not claim it on your 2022 return.  To fix this, you can follow these steps:

1. Select Federal from the left menu
2. Click Deductions & Credits
3. Click Edit next to Dependent Care Credit
4. Answer No on the next screen. "Did you pay for child and dependent care

You will also need to make sure form 2441 has been removed.  To check this, follow these steps:

1. select Tax Tools from the left-side panel
2. Click Tools 
3. Click Delete a form in the pop-up
4. Scroll down the list of forms and select Delete next to Form 2441
5. Choose Delete Selected Form to confirm. You should get Form Successfully Deleted. Select Continue
6. Scroll down and select Continue with my Form
