I saved my tax return to a pdf file but it didn't save it in the software. I was notified that my state tax return was rejected so I need to amend it and re-file. Help!
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
When you save to a pdf file, that file in not saved in the TurboTax software. If you r2020 state tax was rejected, you will have received an email with the reason for the rejection. You go back into TurboTax and fix the reason for the rejection and then refile. You do not amend.
When you print to a pdf, you need to save that pdf to a location on your computer, to a cloud drive, or to an external storage device, like a usb drive.
I need to input my account and routing number so the irs will send my $1400 eip i did my brothers taxes through turbo today and it gave the option to input bank information. Now when i did my taxes through turbo it did not give me the option for it. I am very upset now how do you and i fix this problem?? By the way your phones are messed up!!
You are only able to input your bank account information in TurboTax if you are expecting a tax refund. For the third stimulus payment, right now, there is no way to change your bank information for your stimulus check. The payment will be based on the information from your latest tax return and will go to the bank account or address the IRS has on file for you. Please see How will the third stimulus impact me? for more information.
I did not file electronically with you. I sent the file in via mail.
I cannot find file. There is a question on the return.
Please help to find it.

Here's how to view and download your prior-year returns. You can access returns for the past seven years.
Sign in to your TurboTax account. Make sure you're using the same TurboTax account (same user ID) as in prior years.
There are two ways to get your prior-year returns.
Note: If the year you're looking for isn't there, it might be in a different account. Go here to find all of your accounts. One of them should have the return you're looking for

To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)
If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.
Or go to this IRS website for free federal tax return transcripts - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
For a fee of $43 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf
I ALWAYS USE turbo tax, but in 2019 I had to use a special accountant, cost me 850.00. When I filed in 2020 I could not find the place to get credit for that filing fee. I must have purchased directly from you, instead of buying software to install. I saved it to pdf file and don't know why. cannot get it to open or get it printed. I may want to go back and do amended return. Tell how to fix this problem.
If you used TurboTax Online to complete and file your prior year tax returns, you can access them by following the steps in this TurboTax help article: How do I access a prior-year return?
If you used TurboTax CD/Download software to complete and file your returns, then TurboTax would not have a copy as your tax return would be stored locally on your computer or storage device.
You can also request a copy of your tax return from the IRS, however, if you have an immediate need, you can get a copy of your tax transcript from the IRS. See How do I get a copy of my tax return or transcript from the IRS? for more information.
