How to File 2022 Taxes in TT 2023?

Like an idiot I missed the deadline to file 2022 taxes online.  Turbotax directed me to purchase the PC based software which I did, but it seems like this software is for 2023 only, leaving me wondering how to file for 2022?  Is there a setting in the software that allows me to select tax year?  Or do I need a different program to do prior year returns?

You cannot change the tax year in the software. To file for 2022 you have to buy the TurboTax software for 2022. You can purchase a download at the following link.

You might get a better price from an authorized reseller that still has TurboTax for 2022 in stock.

Tax returns for past years cannot be e-filed. You will have to print your 2022 tax return, sign it, and file it by mail.

You are confused.   In order to use the CD/download, you have to download the 2022 software to your own hard drive.  Then when you are ready to prepare your return -- you launch the program from your own hard drive.  You do not "log in" to an online account.  You must be logging in and getting yourself into the 2023 online program.

Use the downloaded, updated 2022 software that is on your own computer.  Launch the program then go up to the tool bar at the top of your screen and click New Return so that you can start a 2022 return.

The tool bar is at the TOP of your screen.  If you have a tool bar going vertically down one side of your screen, you are in the WRONG program.

If you purchased the 2023 TurboTax software instead of the 2022 software you can get a refund for the purchase.

To complete and file a 2022 tax return using TurboTax you would need to purchase, download and install on a personal computer one of the 2022 desktop editions from this website - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

A 2022 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed using TurboTax.

You probably bought the 2023 program.  Each year is separate.  You need 2022 here,

You will need a full Windows or Mac to install it on.

You can use the 2023 program to do this year's return or ask for a refund.
