I made an excess ROTH IRA contribution in 2022 and would like to file an amendment before October deadline. I cannot find the suitable link or form (5329?) to do it when I follow the amendment page on Turbo Tax online. Could someone explain the steps as to how to do this?
Thank you!

return of excess contribution:
before tax due date including extension: positive earnings allocable to the excess are taxable on the Line 4b for the year of the contribution. negative earnings are ignored; in which case, for purposes of basis, consider the original requested amount as returned.
You must work with the custodian, by filing the right form.
To do this now,
you must have a) filed by tax day, or b) requested an extension of time to file by tax day.
Do you meet these conditions?
I filed my 2022 tax return by the original deadline in April without realizing the excess contribution. I have removed the contributed amount recently including the earnings. I was trying to figure out:
1- Do I have to prepare an amended return before October extension or wait for the next year's return to take care of this ?
2-If I have to return an amended return, what form should I use to inform IRS of the situation?
3- Can this be done online via Turbo Tax Online service and how? So far, I haven't seen any form or specific section dedicated to this when I start the "amended return" application.
" 2-If I have to return an amended return, what form should I use to inform IRS of the situation? "
Form 1040-X.
Do not attach your old 1040 nor your revised 1040 because the Form 1040-X reflects any changes there and becomes your new tax return.
Attach any other new or changed forms or schedules resulting.

Excess Roth contribution. Pub 590-A
"If you timely filed your 2022 tax return without withdrawing a contribution that you made in 2022, you can still have the contribution returned to you within 6 months of the due date of your 2022 tax return, excluding extensions. If you do, file an amended return with “Filed pursuant to section 301.9100-2” written at the top. Report any related earnings on the amended return and include an explanation of the withdrawal. Make any other necessary changes on the amended return."

I don't know if TurboTax will add the annotation.
If it won't, you have two choices.
A) File a paper Form 1040-X
B) Put the annotation in Part III Explanation and e-File 1040-X
