the failed deposit should have been sent back to the iRS. However, the IRS is on a tear to do only direct depoists rather than issue paper checks. You should receive an IRS CP53E requesting you go online and update your bank info..if you haven't established an IRS account here's the link
I’m in the same predicament. Keep getting the run around . Turbo tax keeps telling me I need to contact cross river bank but cross river bank has an automated message saying contact turbo tax. Nobody from turbo tax that Iv spoken to has a straight answer. They keep telling me the irs will send me a check but my documents & the information tips on turbo tax say cross river will send out a check since I paid for the 5 days early with my refund . Iv gotten different answers saying i will have it 3 weeks from rejection , 4-6 weeks & now today they told me it could take up to 12 weeks. Cross river bank tried depositing my refund 2/18 & it was an automatic rejection since I provided the wrong routing number . So I don’t see why it’s taking 3 weeks & nobody has answers. Hopfully we’ll see our checks soon.
