How does turbo tax estimate next years refund?

TurboTax does not estimate next year's refund in the program.  TurboTax estimates tax payments.  You can use TurboTax's calculator to get an estimate of next year's refund.

If you use the Taxcaster tool be aware that several tax laws changed for ONLY the 2021 tax year and Congress has not extended those tax law changes to next year as of now.   The child tax credit will go back to a lower amount, and there will be no federal stimulus --or recovery rebate credits-- for 2022.   And the earned income credit criteria will revert back to pre-2021 rules.   And....it is early.....no telling what -- if any--tax laws might change before the next tax filing season.
