How do you correct an amount turbo tax put in error?

Yes, You have the right idea. The first step is to double-check the posting of the W-2 by selecting Edit.

  • Boxes 18,19 & 20 are reserved for Local (County) inputs.  Please check these first.
  • If these do not have any information in them, I suggest you delete the W-2 using the trash can next to the edit key.
  • Once deleted you can check to see if the entry for County tax is done.
    • If it is gone, you can simply re-enter the W-2.
    • If it isn't gone the source was not your W-2

How do you correct an amount turbo tax put in error?

No. The W2 was correct all the boxes were populated. I did delete and reload it just to.make sure there was not an error on the first transmission.  Tax still came out the same.  The county tax should match my W2 correct? I tried to edit the amount but it would not let me.  I may try.another tax site

to see if they come out with the same result.
