How do I switch to turbo tax from an outside tax preparer after I filed an extension, but before the tax return was filed?

Did that other preparer actually start a return for you?

We met with her, and she filed an extension because we're still waiting on paperwork from my husband's employer. So, technically, she started work on it, but it hasn't been filed.

Or buy the Desktop CD/Download program https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/

You will have to start a new return.  Did you make a payment with the extension?  We can tell you how to enter it once you get started.
