How do I get turbo tax to file the 1040X?

Why does Turbo Tax not recognize my E file of 2025 return for E file of 1040X?

Found out from Turbo Tax AI , the 2025 1040X can not be E Filed through Turbo Tax. It must be printed and submitted by mail.

I've seen several posts that efiled a 2025 1040X amended return.   Did you mean a different year?   But you can only efile an amended return if the first original return was efiled and accepted from the same account.  Where  are you getting stuck?

I get the message that efile of the 2025 1040X is unavailable because I didn't efile the original.  But I did and it shows up in the filing status page.  I really don't want to print and mail 40 pages!  I owe an additional amount...not much.

You only have to mail the Form 1040X and any documentation for the change you made (such as a W-2 or 1099 form). 

An amendment takes 12 weeks to process and doesn't catch up to or correct your original filing.  It's processed separately, and you have three years to submit your amendment.
