I was forced into the ExpertAssist, which I have no intention of using. The Do It Yourself option was not available, or if it was, was cleverly hidden by TurboTax to trick customers.
Later on, after spending a lot of time inputting tax info, I realized that I was being charged more for this service that I do not want. Yet apparently the only way to get rid of it is to clear the return and start over.
That is unacceptable!
I'm not sure if they can do anything, but you can call customer service. Here is a link to contact Turbo Tax Customer Service.
I experienced the same issue for the past years due to filing a 1099 once. I just noticed the forced Expert Assist subs because I was filing a W-2 this time around. I am so frustrated with Turbo Tax Intuit. Trying to fool people on third party fees, really?
