2018? Who sent you a letter about 2018? It might be a scam. Did you have taxable income in 2018? Did you file a 2018 return?
Software is no longer available from TurboTax for 2018. Even if you could find it on eBay, etc. you would not be able to get updates or support. And it is way too late to get a refund for a 2018 return. Any refund was forfeited a few years ago and would not be paid to you. As for getting a W-2----those come from employers so you would need to contact your 2018 employer to ask for a copy or get a wage and income transcript from the IRS that shows the income that was reported to them by the employer.
You can get a wage and income transcript from the IRS: It will not show the actual W-2, 1099’s, etc, but will show the income information the IRS received. It will not, however, show your state information. It will only show the federal information.
