To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Start the 2024 online tax return by entering some personal information then click on Tax Home on the left side of the screen.
On the Tax Home webpage -
Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)
I need 2023 nit 2024. When I sign into my account there isn’t an option to even look at it
Correct...once the 2024 software started up, you MUST go aways into the initial 2024 Q&A's before the option to see prior years will show up.
They do this stupid stuff every year at this time...the hide the prior years until you get a way into the next tax year's Q&A.
I went thru steps which is not intuitive at all and I guess I gong have the software required to view - now what?
You MUST now start thru those initial 2024 startup pages first.
1) Once the selection for "Tax Home" shows up in the upper-left of the screen, click on that,
2) then scroll down the page and open "Your tax returns & documents".
3) then click on the 2023 tab and you can see your 2023...or any other tax year's tab to see any of those years you used the "Online" software to file from this exact account (no others)
Thanks. I did all of that but when I click the download button next to 2023 return it says the file is corrupted
You should only attempt to download the PDF file to your home computer, and not to a usb-connected drive. That PDF file can be opened as long as you have a PDF reader on your computer
BUT< if you are downloading the .tax2023 datafile, you cannot open that without the full 2023 desktop software already installed on you home computer...WITH the appropriate state software already installed too,,,,if your tax file has a state attached to it.
