Note:  Every year, before mid-October, print a copy of your current year tax return and save it as a tax file and pdf, too.  That way you will have it when you need it for school, a loan, next year’s tax return, etc. without going through a lot of aggravation (and expense)  to get it.

None of this information seems to allow you to buy plus now. I never filed a return for 2018 and there appears to be no way for me to buy plus without being inside of the 2018 return. Because it's after October 15th I can't even enter the area to start a new 2018 return to purchase Plus. I need my 2017 return and can't get it. Any ideas?

You have to wait until December when online opens for 2019 and buy Plus in 2019 to unlock prior years.
