How do I find my completed 2025 tax Return

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

Or -

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state. 

This will take you back to the 2025 online tax return.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen.  Then click on Print Center.  Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return.  Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

By signing on to myturbotax.intuit.com I cannot see anything related to my information.  It just asks me to start my tax return but it's already been completed.  On my desktop version it is no longer accessible via the 2025 icon..it's disappeared but I have completed it prior to downloading info from financial institution and have a .pdf saved to prove it.  Why/how can I not see completed 2025 tax return via desktop icon to file it online?  When I sign into Intuit, nothing shows and no taxreturn.tax2025 shows up on my desktop that I found.  It must be somewhere since I completed it via TurboTax2025 desktop icon previously...appreciate help as nothing I've found online works.  Thanks.

Can you clarify the situation?

• Did you complete your tax return on the TurboTax 2025 Desktop?
• Can you log into the Desktop?
• Is there a Monopoly card showing your 2025 tax return?
• Did you file your return from the Desktop?
• Why do you want to go to the Online version?

As mentioned, I did complete my return via desktop TurboTax after downloading it but now when I click onto TurboTax2025 icon, it only shows my 2024 tax return and asks me to start 2025 like I'd done nothing previously.  Don't understand the log onto Desktop question has never had to "log onto" anything to get into TurboTax via desktop icon, like using a User ID/Password nor does monopoly card question make sense to me so no to that. Again, "trying" to submit tax return online but can't find it, so "no" haven't filed it yet.  Logged onto Intuit in case it might be there for some reason given TurboTax appeared to require me to log onto Intuit Account to import financial information...that's the step that messed things up.  Have imported financial info in previous years without issues but not this year...didn't not go smoothly at all!! Did complete all that eventually and again finished my tax return but now cannot access it to actually submit it online.

I've got the same problem.  Logged back into my desktop turbotax to complete 2025.  It's as if I never started it.  It was complete (I printed the .pdf) except for filing.  Checked One Drive, *.tax2025 search, etc. Using Windows.  Very frustrating.

Check the Documents > TurboTax folder.  You should have a backup copy with a tilde sign in front.

IF you meant to look on desktop under Documents/TurboTax, nothing there as had already checked that.  It certainly seems it has to be somewhere given it was “saved” all along..

P.S. Would think it could be online somehow..moved there when had to sign in to Intuit to import data..yes/no?

Sorry no.   If you used the Desktop program your return is only saved or stored on that computer.   Not even if you efile it.   Are you on Windows or Mac?

For Windows

Did you search your whole computer for all files ending in .tax2025 etc?And check the recycle bin and your backups.  Check in One Drive, Drop Box, etc.  It should be in your Documents then in the Turbo Tax folder.  Also if you have multiple Windows user accounts, log into each one and do the search for the *.tax2025 data file from within each one and checking the Recycle Bin in each one.

If you don't have the main .tax file you might have one that starts with a Tilde sign ~ like  "~your name.tax2025”.  That file is if your computer crashes or your real file gets lost or deleted or corrupt so you can restore it.

As I’ve mentioned, searched for tax file on windows Desktop but will do so again. IF I find it, how can it be linked back/accessed again through TurboTax icon to be able to submit it online and hopefully be there next year upload before doing 2026 tax return?

If you find your .tax2025 file, put it somewhere you can find it.  The default location for Windows is Documents > TurboTax, where you may have multiple copies of saved tax files.

If you double-click on it, it will open in TurboTax 2025.  Next year, point to this location or move it to your desktop for easy transferring.

FYI, Referring to string above, I've re-rechecked my desktop for .tax2025 and nothing comes up...ANY other option?  Just as another FYI, I ran .tax2024 and DID find that one.  Again 2025 taxes were completed via Windows TurboTax2025 on desktop, with a .pdf to prove it, but cannot see it on 2025 turbotax icon after signing onto Intuit account to import data....No idea what occurred to "move" file wherever it went to avoid this next year potentially!!  Need to file taxes but cannot as file is "somewhere".....
