How do I download a copy of my State Return?

When I click on "downlad.tax.file" it will not open on my computer. It says it needs an external app that is not available.

The tax data file, .tax, can only be opened by the TurboTax software for the year of the tax data file.

If you want to view or print your tax return you will need to download the PDF of the tax return for the year required.

To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

Everything "online" for 2021 taxes is locked now...

BUT

When the transfer of all files to the archived server is done, then you will be able to download a new PDF file from your tax account in the " Your tax returns & documents" section , lower on the first screen after login.  (you might have to start putting in some minimal 2022 tax file info before that section shows up.....if this year's software behaves like last)

The end-of-year archived tax file PDF will contain All of the worksheets.  During the Regular part of the year, you would have to use the Print Center to get to all the worksheets...but after archiving, after the end of the year, the PDF automatically contains everything.
