You cannot make changes on a tax return after you file it. If you made a mistake and said you did not get the EIP payment, the IRS is looking for those mistakes and they will fix it for you. Do not try to change your return. You will be waiting longer but the IRS will make the correction.
It depends. You cannot do anything to your return once you submit them. You will need to wait to see if your return was rejected or accepted. If it is rejected, you are able to login to your return to fix your response.
However, if the return is accepted then you will have to wait since the IRS will adjust the response on their own end. So they will double check your response with their own records and adjust your return accordingly. There is no need to amend your return for this purpose, since IRS will adjust the return themselves including the refund amount.
However, due to this, your refund amount will be delayed for a longer period since IRS will be making the adjustments. However, as mentioned above, no need to amend your return if this was the only issue you were trying to edit.
