How do I change how I get my refund if my bank account has been closed

If you have already filed your return and it's been accepted by the IRS, you can't change anything. What will happen, is that when the bank rejects the refund back to the IRS, the IRS will then cut a paper check and mail it to the address you provided on your tax return. Expect 6-8 weeks to get your check in the mail.
