How do I carry over my NOL from 2016 to 2017 return using Turbotax?
My house flooded in Hurricane Harvey. I have used Turbotax to fill out my 2016 1040x amended return including all my casualty losses and insurance reimbursement applied to 2016 return. I have a negative balance on Taxable Income (Line 5). How do I carry my NOL forward into my 2017 return using Turbotax? Is that negative balance the amount of the carry over? Did Turbotax take into account my low income in 2016 insofar as my medical deductions and other %gross limitations when filling out my 2016 1040x?

Search for NOL Carryforward under the Search Topics heading in TurboTax to include your prior year NOL Carryforward on your 2017 return. Review the Federal Carryover Worksheet included in your 2016 tax return. The amount remaining for your carryforward is reflected there.
You will enter your prior year loss as a positive number in TurboTax. However, the NOL is reflected as a negative figure on your 1040 or amended tax return.
Yes. When you amended your 2016 tax return, TurboTax adjusted your allowable deductions based on your new hurricane loss information.
