You will need to first wait until the original return has been processed.

If the IRS does not make the correction (if they do, they will send you a letter and ask if you agree with their proposed change) file the amended return, Form 1040X.

If there is tax due, be sure to pay that additional tax before the due date of the return, April 15, 2025.
