How do i amend a return? i need to add my daughter, and the amounts for the child tax credit and the standard deduction DID NOT match the current laws

The tax code for tax year 2017 has not been changed for either the Child Tax Credit or Standard Deducitons.  The tax code increases the credit and deduction in tax year 2018 and beyond.

2017 Child Tax Credit - $1,000

Standard deductions for 2017 

• Single - $6,350 add $1,550 if age 65 or older
• Married Filing Separately - $6,350 add $1,250 if age 65 or older
• Married Filing Jointly - $12,700 add $1,250 for each spouse age 65 or older
• Head of Household - $9,350 add $1,550 if age 65 or older
