What tax year are you trying to change that for? If you already filed a 2019 return and you are asking how to change it for 2019, you have to amend the tax return. But....if you are trying to do that in order to get a stimulus check this year, that will not happen. It is taking well over four months for the IRS to process amended returns, so amending in mid-November will not result in a quick stimulus check. You can get the stimulus money on your 2020 return if you are not someone else's dependent for 2020.
