How can I get the IRS to process my 2021 refund? My fed return was accepted in January, but I got a notice to verify my identity (it’s legit) and I am still waiting!

You filed very early---you do not mention when you verified your identity.   A human has to handle all of the information you provided to verify your identity.   Only the IRS can tell you when your return will be processed after you verify your identity; typically it takes a couple of months, but things are taking longer than normal due to the backlog at the IRS.  All you can do is watch the refund site or call--but if you call, expect a long time on hold, or possibly no answer.

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

Listen to each menu before making the selection.

First choose your language. Press 1 for English.

Then do NOT choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.

Instead, press 2 for "personal income tax".

Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".  

Then press 3 "for all other questions."

Then press 2 "for all other questions."  It should then transfer you to an agent.
