How can I get my money back from Turbotax, I paid $300+ for audit protection and live help. I wont be receiving my refund back since I amended it due to an error.

Im military stationed in Virginia but my home state is California.  Now Virginia is asking me to pay $3,000+ in state tax.  plus the 20 week wait due to COVID for any amended returns, im really upset.

I don't think TurboTax will refund your money

because  you are upset with IRS processing chaos, or,

because you made an error and had to file an amendment.

This is mainly a user community forum.   I'm a fellow user--not a tax person--but you might get a comment from someone familiar with you being a military filer stationed in Virginia, but whose home state is California.

As part of your Live TurboTax product, did you have your returns reviewed by your live CPA/EA expert prior to filing?   Since you used Live TurboTax, also be aware of this statement from TurboTax concerning the Live product:

If your only income was the military pay and you are a CA resident living in VA then you don't need to pay taxes to VA at all.  Depending on what VA is asserting will determine how you respond.  If you used one of the LIVE options you should be able to get help from them otherwise :
