You have to access your account(s) using exactly the same account and user ID that were used to prepare the return.
Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them. Log out of the account you are in now.

IF...big IF...if you are logged into the correct Online account, don't use the "Documents" selection on the left side.....try my directions here (click on "Tax Home", then scroll down the Page )
Many users fail to use the Docs service correctly ... this is not where prior year returns are housed it is only for uploading other docs for safekeeping ... and you can upload them for all the tax years you used the program in the past as well as the current tax year. If users would avail themselves of this tool then they would have access to their tax docs like W-2 forms they are always searching for later on.
My Docs (formerly TurboTax Vault) shows you any tax return you’ve filed in TurboTax Online, past or present, and lets you securely upload and keep all your tax-related documents in one place so you can easily access them when it comes time to do your taxes – or any time you want.
You can store up to 100 MB of scanned receipts, payment confirmations, documentation – whatever you would otherwise keep in a shoebox or filing cabinet. You can even upload your TurboTax PDF and data file backups, as long as each individual upload doesn't exceed 5 MB.

.....aaaaand, as noted in one of the links explaining MyDocs, those who use the "Free" version...they can't have anything in "Documents" section unless they pay for PLUS. so hundreds-of-thousands of TTX users get misdirected into attempting to use a selection they may not have .
True that ... but the Docs info links will get to the same place if user's follow them ...

OK....misread that one...the was another one I was having issues with
