To find the amount of your expected refund:
You can log back
into TurboTax if you used TurboTax online and click on Taxes in the top
left. (If you have trouble accessing your online return, see the FAQ
below.)
You can open your return back up in the desktop
software if you used TurboTax desktop, or you can open a saved pdf file
of your return. (If your file does not show as an option to open in the
software, click File in the top left then "Open Tax Return" and browse
for your .tax2015 formatted file.)
If you printed a copy of the return, the amount will be on your printed return.
For assistance locating a TurboTax online return:
Signing in with the wrong login is the number one reason (by far!) customers can't find a return in their Tax Timeline.
We can provide you with a list of User IDs tied to your email address, which you can then try signing in with. Simply enter your e-mail address here and click Continue.
Other possibilities are listed below.
Did you use the TurboTax software instead of TurboTax Online? If so, your return is stored locally on your computer's hard drive. We don't store your return on our servers like we do with TurboTax Online.
Look for your return on your Windows or Mac computer, or request a copy from the IRS (filed returns only).
We don't have copies of returns prepared by H&R Block, TaxACT, TaxSlayer, Jackson Hewitt, Taxbrain, Liberty, or anybody else. Just TurboTax Online.
Contact the company or individual who prepared your return, or order a copy from the IRS.
Oops. When you do this, it overwrites (replaces) your original tax return and there's no way to recover it in TurboTax Online. You'll need to order a copy from the IRS, assuming you filed it.
To prevent this from happening again, make sure you create a separate login for each return. Find out how to start a second return in TurboTax Online.
