Hi, my friend wants to do a tax return but she closed bank account when we left USA. We worked in Alaska as J-1 students during the summer. But i still have an account opened. Can she do a tax return to my bank account?

I'm afraid that won't work.  The bank is required to compare the name on the refund with the name of the account owner.  If the names don't match, the bank is required to send back the refund to the IRS.  The IRS then mails out a paper check to the taxpayer.

Your friend can always get the refund placed on a Netspend card as an alternative.
