Hi, I have already filed my 2016 taxes and we will only have SS for 2017. I would like to do a mock tax return for 2017 to get an idea on taxes owed, can I do this?

You could do that, but I would start a new account so it doesn't mix in with your filed returns in any way.  I will tell you, though, that if your only income really is Social Security, you will owe no tax.  If you do not have tax taken out of your SS payments, you would have no reason to file a return.
