Hi, I accidentally claimed my son on my taxes under EIC. I've amended my taxes, but I can't see confirmation of that anywhere.
My son's father can not file his taxes until this is fixed...

He probably won't be able to e-file them after this is fixed as once it gets into the IRS database it doesn't get out very quickly. What he needs to do is file his return on paper so it can be processed
As an aside, if you are the custodial parent you can claim EIC. The custodial parent is the parent the child lived with for more than 183 days in 2016. You just can't claim your son as a dependent or claim the child tax credit. Your inputs should have been as follows:
- When asked if your child's other parent will claim him/her this year per legal agreement, answer yes (the other parent will claim the child).
- When asked if the child lives with you more than 1/2 of the year, answer yes.
- When asked if you have a custody agreement, divorce decree or other written agreement, answer yes (presumably, TurboTax treats Form 8332 as an "other written agreement."
In doing so, TurboTax will include the children on your return for EIC, Head of Household if applicable and dependent care credit only.
(I'm assuming that you and your son's father do not live together., as they would be an entirely different situation.)
