Hello, I had to adjust my federal taxes for 2018 as I didnt realize i had to include money from settlement for income. What form should I file now to adjust my state tax?

I am worried that if I do not adjust NY state for the missing income, they will charge me interest at later date and higher sum? I am unsure how it works.

If you are using the TT 2018 downloaded program to amend the federal then it can also amend the state.

They amended my tax return though IRS as we got audited. But they did not amend state so I am trying to figure out how to fix it

The IRS changed your return (not amended it)  so when you start the amendment process you must make the changes the IRS did and then complete the state interview again to amend the state.

What if it was done not under my account ? My step dad that tax return and I took over yesr after. He did use TurboTax. Is it possible to still amend it from mine ?

Easiest way is for dad to amend it using the downloaded program he already has on his computer ... if he used the online version get the user name and password so you can log in ... have him on the phone for the security code.
