I found my tax return on February 17th at2020. Every time I call TurboTax and the IRS I cannot get through to anyone to answer why my return has not been paid out yet. Is anyone else experiencing this? Where they haven't been told anything is wrong with the return but they haven't received their tax return yet?
You can track your return by checking the Where's My Refund website located here.
If you elected to have your fees deducted from your refund, the IRS will send your return to Santa Barbara Bank, where they will deduct the fees and then deposit any remaining refund into your account.
You can track your refund at the Santa Barbara website by clicking here.
You can contact the IRS by following the instructions here. Once you submit your return, Turbo Tax does not receive any updates on your return.
I'm sorry but this does not help me at all. And the fact that no one will answer me at the IRS or here when I call has me seriously worried. I don't know what else to do and I feel pretty powerless right now. I don't know what else to do but it doesn't make sense that it's been over a month and a half with no answers.
I filed and it was accepted on 2/17/2020. It's now 4/4/2020.....in 13 days it will have been 2 months!!!!!! This is serious.
Please instead of giving me generic bull**bleep** answers can someone actually help???
If you filed successfully, then only the IRS can tell you anything about your refund.
You haven't said what happens when you try to get the status of your Federal refund at the IRS website. Without knowing that, no one here can tell you anything. Follow the steps below:
Some returns are processed fairly quickly, while others require additional processing due to specific items in the return and can take a long time. Some are even pulled at random for more thorough investigation.
Did you efile, or did you choose to print and mail the return? If you filed by mail, it can take about 6 weeks to get a Federal refund.
If you efiled, double-check to be sure the return was efiled successfully and accepted.
If you used Online TurboTax, you can sign into your Online Account and check the efile status at the Tax Home. Does it say accepted, rejected, printed, started, or something else?
If that showed it was accepted, you can use the "Where's My Refund" tool at the IRS website below to monitor the status of your Federal refund.
https://www.irs.gov/Refunds
NOTE: When using that tool, be sure to enter the correct SSN and filing status. For the refund amount, use only the Federal refund amount, and not any total refund amount that includes a state refund.
The amount to use is on your Federal Form 1040, Line 21a.
When I use your app it says ACCEPTED
when I use the IRS website & app it says it is still being processed
My point is that by BOTH of your estimates it shouldn't take this long

Since your return showed up in the IRS tool and has a status of "still being processed," then you know they received it and are still working on it. Only the IRS can tell you what they are doing with your refund and what is causing the delay. No one at TurboTax gets any feedback from the IRS while they are processing your return.
The 21-day time frame is the IRS estimate for 9 out of 10 filers who efile and choose direct deposit. That still leaves a large number of people for whom it takes longer, sometimes very long. But only the IRS will know why.
In a normal time, you would be able to phone the IRS and ask about the delay. But they are all but shut down due to the Coronavirus situation. I can tell you how to try to reach a live IRS agent on Monday, but it may not be successful due to the national emergency.
800-829-1040 (7AM-7 PM local time) Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do not choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
I have done that already and a few days ago they added an automatic message saying that you can't get a live person now.
I am obviously not going to get any help here . And none of you seem to care at all. I will remember this next year and from this point forward will no longer use your services. My parents and family encouraged me to contact you all for help. They always use your services too. I need to tell them they were wrong. TurboTax doesn't care about it's users
Your other option would to try to get help from the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service, but they are likely difficult to reach, too. Go to the website below and get the contact number for your state. Also read the shaded box there about how the Coronavirus is affecting their service.

I'm sorry, but as I said above, only the IRS or IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service can help you with your issue. They are the ones that are working on your return. These are unusual times due to the Coronavirus. Everyone is having difficulty reaching the IRS. If you can't reach anyone at the IRS, try the Taxpayer Advocate Service. The shaded box on that page at the link I provided says your state local office may still be taking calls.
This is mainly a user community forum, but you are welcome to phone TurboTax Support when they open in 40 minutes and discuss your issue with them if you need confirmation.
Support hours are 5AM-9PM Pacific (8AM-12 Midnight Eastern), 7 days/week
