Read the notice carefully .... are they asking about the balance due or are they billing you for an underpayment penalty and/or interest for late filing ?
If it is the balance due did you pay it ? Your proof would be the canceled check or bank/CC statement.
Comptriller's office says I made $1000.00 2019 estimated Tax Paument , but the file shows $1,067.00. So I owed them $227.00 not $160.00 . I would like to know where this $67.00 was added to estimated Tax for 2019?when I file?
According to the Maryland Tax I filed for 2019, shows only $160 I owed and I paid wih my filing I've done with Turbo Tax.
I thought I didn't owe any more. Is this your filing mistake for some reason?
That could be from the prior year's refund if you applied it to the next tax year it would be added to the estimated payments line.
May speak to someone on the phone?
Then, why do I owe them that $67.00?
Isn't it your filing calculation error?
It may be the reverse ... you did not apply the refund but said you did on the return ... another common error.
