Got correct w2 after filing taxes

When i filed my taxes i didnt notice box 13 was empty even though i contribute to my 401k through my employer. A couple days after i filed my taxes i got mail from my employer saying my w2 was inccorect because box 13 was empty and i would be receiving a corrected w2. Do i need to amend my return once i get my corrected w2?

It depends. Once you receive the correct W2, you need to determine if the difference in the amounts will make a difference on your tax return.  If it changes your amount due or amount to be refunded, which is likely, you will want to file an amended return.  See instructions below (this link will update in February when the form is available).  If it doesn't change anything, you do not need to do anything.
