After filing my 2020 taxes a month ago, I marked that I had not received the 2nd Stimulus check ($600 USD). About a week after filing my 2020 taxes, the IRS deposited the $600 USD in my bank account- great! But, I realized I forgot to add my foreign-earned income exclusion. Thus, I just filed for an amendment with my low foreign-earned income exclusion and everything looks right. The only issue is that now it asks if I received the 2nd Stimulus (just as it did before), and I have to mark "yes" since the IRS recently deposited it in my account. However, when I select "yes," it now says that I owe the $600 Stimulus back as my Federal Tax Due. This can't be right! Is there something that you all need to fix so that it shows I received the amount recently or skip this question? Not sure what the issue is.... but I shouldn't be charged what the IRS recently decided to give me.

Leave the stimulus answer the same as on the original return, "No". The IRS will correct this on your original return. You only need to amend the foreign income exclusion.
