It can take several weeks for your paper check refund to arrive after it has been issued by the IRS.  It may take less time to arrive depending upon US mail transit times.  If you don't receive your refund within 4 weeks after your return was accepted by the IRS, you can initiate a trace on your missing federal income tax refund amount.  You will need to fill out Form 3911 and submit it to the IRS per the instructions on the form, or you can also call the IRS to initiate a trace on the refund.
