So I filled my taxes the same way I do every year with TT. Followed all the rules did it step by step. I get told that I’m going to get a federal refund of 1520 I think this great. I can maybe do a down payment on a car this will be amazing woke up yesterday to see that it was changed by the irs to 120. I know that the irs can change things or if it wasn’t right but I don’t know what I could have done wrong. Nothing besides jobs has changed in my life. This entire process has been super defeating I have called and talk to all I could talk to nothing makes sense

Did you use Pay with Refund for your TurboTax fees? If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third-party processor (SBTPG) to have the fees and the service charge deducted. SBTPG will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.
For the status of your tax refund or the amount of your refund, you will need to contact SBTPG, toll-free at 1-877-908-7228 or go to their secure website.
If you did not use Pay with Refund then only the IRS would be able to provide information about why your tax refund was smaller than expected. You can contact them by following the steps in this help article: How do I contact the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)?
This didn’t help. I have to wait for a letter from the irs in order to get anything solved

If your refund is short $1,400 then the IRS has records that show you were sent the 3rd stimulus payment so they removed the $1,400 Recovery Rebate Credit from the federal tax return Form 1040 Line 30.
If you checked your bank account in the March - May 2021 timeframe and there is not a $1,400 EIP3 payment from the IRS then go to this IRS website for how to start a trace on the payment - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/questions-and-answers-about-the-third-economic-impact-payment-topic-j-p...
@Armyguy998 If your refund was changed by exactly $1400 it is possible you had a mix up regarding the 3rd stimulus payment.
Try checking your online account with the IRS
https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account
Does the IRS show that you received a $1400 stimulus or EIP check in 2021? Did you receive it? When you were asked on your tax return did you say no? Was there $1400 on line 30 of your tax return?
If the IRS says you got $1400 last year but you did not receive it you can have it traced.
LOST THIRD STIMULUS CHECK
In the stat of Colorado I think that was left up to the local government to give out the third sim check. But I only received the main two. I never got a third. I did put down that I received the first two when doing my taxes before it told me that those aren’t taxable.
@Armyguy998 The EIP --federal stimulus checks-- were issued by the IRS ---not your state. There was no place on your 2021 tax return to enter anything about receiving the first or second stimulus. The question in Federal Review was for the recovery rebate credit for the 3rd EIP payment---which was sent out beginning in mid-March of 2021 in the amount of $1400 per person.
The first EIP --or stimulus check--- was issued in 2020 It was for $1200 for adults and $500 for a dependent under the age of 17. The IRS used information from either your 2019 or 2020 tax return to issue those checks so they could send them out in a hurry.
The 2nd EIP or stimulus was issued in late 2020 or early 2021 and was $600 for adults and $600 for dependents under age 17.
If you did not receive the 1st and/or 2nd stimulus check you can get it by filing a 2020 tax return and using the recovery rebate credit in Federal Review. It will end up on line 30 of a 2020 tax return and will be added to your refund (or reduce your tax due).
The 3rd EIP--or stimulus check-- was sent out in mid-March or later in 2021 and was for $1400 per person--adults and dependents no age limit.
If you did not get the 3rd EIP payment you can get it by filing a 2021 tax return and using the recovery rebate credit in Federal Review. The credit will go on line 30 of your Form 1040 and will add to your refund (or reduce your tax due).
So I have found it on my irs account it does say that I got it but I never did get one like I said above about what I though happened. I never received my 3check and will run a trace on it
Okay so I will have to call them later during the week. But how do I claim that I never got one if I already did my taxes.
@Armyguy998 You have to put a trace on it.
LOST THIRD STIMULUS CHECK
Okay cool thank you so much this whole conversation has made me feel so much better about the whole situation
