Filed married last year with spouses tax service. Ugly divorce, no contact. How do I file this year without knowing last year's tax return info??

If you can contact the "tax service" they should give you a copy of the tax return that they prepared for you, without involving your ex.

You can get a transcript of your 2016 tax return from the IRS. Go to the following link on the IRS web site to get a Tax Return Transcript. If you filed as married filing jointly last year, you can get a transcript of your joint return by yourself. You do not need anything from your ex.

Thank you very much. Visited IRS website and found link for Transcript. As soon as the service is available again (temporarily down for maintenance till January 8th) I will be receiving them from there.
