I mailed off my taxes today, the circumstances being my ex claimed our child and she did not have the right to so my question is will I receive my refund with the child credit as I am suppose to or will the irs have to force my ex to amend their taxes (which I am assuming they have already received by this point) before I received a refund? and if so should I expect to receive the proper amount( with child tax credit ) or would it partial due to my child already being claimed

Mailed tax returns are processed differently than e-filed returns. Since someone else already put your child's SSN into the system, you were unable to e-file. The IRS will process your return that claims your child and you should receive the refund based on the information on that mailed return. It may take up to a year, but the IRS will eventually sort out the duplicate use of the child's SSN. The person who incorrectly claimed the child will face repayment of child-related credits plus penalties.
What the IRS says will happen is they will process your return normally and pay a refund (if claimed), although this may take 6 weeks instead of 3 weeks due to mailing your return.
The separately, they will send letters to both parents to investigate the duplicate claim, usually in 9 months or so. The parent whose claim is ultimately rejected will have to pay back any credits or refunds with interest, and possibly a penalty.
