Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

Filed 2023 taxes in early April and still no refund spent 100 hours trying to get info from IRS. Only to be told that it's still processing. What do I do?

They have sent notice cp05 a few times & LTR 4464C both say they don't need anything from me but they are holding my refund until they finish verifying my return.

You may want to contact a Taxpayer Advocate in your area.  See this IRS website for Taxpayer Advocate in your area and a toll free number - http://www.irs.gov/Advocate/Local-Taxpayer-Advocate

I called them in July and they  responded in August with a list of things they needed me to get before they would try to help. I told them during the initial call that the business I worked for had been dismantled and I didn't know how to get anything from them gave up trying to get help from an advocate afterwards

TurboTax gets no information from the IRS after you file your tax return.  TT cannot intercede with the IRS or do anything to speed up your refund.   The two things you can do are call the IRS yourself or contact an Advocate.

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 3 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.

At the following IRS website, find the USA map and click on your state, and it will give you the number of your area's IRS Taxpayer Advocate.
