Federal took my taxes but I thought I would get my State How do I find out?

Ive only received a letter from IRS stating Dept of Ed took my federal but I didnt receive my State

Your state return is handled by a different agency than your federal refund, so if it is claimed in a refund offset you will receive a letter from them once it has finished processing. You could also contact your state's tax department using the contact information in the link above. They may be able to access your account and provide you with this information.
