Exempt on w2 form

You did not enter anything on a W-2.   Employers issue W-2's in January to show how much you were paid and how much tax was withheld from your paychecks.   You would have filled out a W-4 for the employer to show that you would be filing Head of Household with five children, and the employer withheld tax according to the information that was on that W-4.

When you receive the W-2 from your employer you will enter in on your tax return.  Enter all of the information for your dependent children in MY INFO, including their Social Security numbers, etc.    The software will calculate your refund or tax due.

You have not mentioned the ages of your children.   For the children under the age of 16, you should get child tax credit.  Depending on how much you earned, you might also get earned income credit.  You can only get EIC for up to three children, even if you have more than three.

After you get it all entered:

Look at your 2024 Form 1040 to see the child-related credits you received
