Dual Status - J1 and L1 visas - Am I considered as a resident alien for 2018 tax return ?

I was a non resident alien from November 2016 to April 2017 with a J1 visa and then resident alien from June 2017 to December 2017 with a L1 visa. 

I was working for the same company in the US.

Am I considered as a resident alien for 2017 ?

What forms do I need to fill for 2018 tax return ?

You would be a dual status alien for 2017. Turbotax does not support this kind of return

I recounted the number of days I was in the US as a L1 visa: total is 180 days (June 2nd to Nov 29th).

It means I am considered as a non resident for tax return and can use Turbotax 🙂

Am I correct ?

why nov 29? did you leave the US then?

Yes I left the US on November 29th to go back to my country.

So first I thought I would be a dual status but looking closer to the dates, it seems I would be considered as a non resident alien.

Am I right ?

yes, if the days on L1 were lass than 183, you were a nonresident alien. Turbotax does not support nonresident alien returns.
