Does anyone know how to locate where their refund is if they have already spoken with the IRS and their bank?

I have the confirmation from the IRS that my deposit should have gone through on April 17th yet it is not in my bank account (which I confirmed the routing and account numbers with said bank) so the only people who likely can help me at this point are Turbo Tax because both bank and IRS told me to contact the tax preparer.

Once a return is accepted Turbotax receives no information about your refund status or does it get your refund. What you were told by these people is totally wrong.  If you had your fees or advance taken out of your refund, it is processed by a 3rd party bank to split between you and Turbotax. Your portion is forwarded on electronically using the direct deposit info on the original return. if this is your situation contact them

You can contact them SBTPG, toll-free, at 1-877-908-7228 or go to their secure website www.sbtpg.com

if not contact the see this page from the iRS or doing a refund trace

@Mike9241 Thank you! I called SBTPG and they also have confirmed that my federal shows that it was deposited into my bank on April 17 which (didn't mention state refund amount at all). Now I am even more confused because if the 3rd party is claiming its been processed then how is there a way that it didn't show up in the account? Maybe refund trace is the only option at this point but through the IRS website and phone automated system they're both claiming that this should be deposited already.

never hear d of this. check your bank statement again. it might not have actually been deposited until a few days later

contact SBtPG again and see if it can provide routing and account numbers for the deposit.  (the IRS can't because of 3rd party processing). get a copy of whatever proof they can provide

if they match your bank's then you need to pay a visit to your bank.

maybe others will have other suggestions.

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities,  There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals.  Some states process returns quickly and some are very slow.

STATE RETURN

Make sure your state return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

To track your state refund:

NOTE:   The third party bank is not involved at all with processing or receiving your state refund.  Your state refund goes directly from the state to your account.

Your tax refund was not sent to TurboTax.   TurboTax does not handle your refund at all.

Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC  (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.

You can contact them SBTPG, toll-free, at 1-877-908-7228 or go to their secure website www.sbtpg.com
