It depends on the state, but, unfortunately, it is almost never quick. The IRS (Bureau of the Fiscal Service) offsets the tax return. After that, they forward the collections to the state. The state then applies the funds to the child support case(s) involved, and after that, they will issue the payment. There is a lot of ''government'' in the process, so you have to be patient. 🙂
