Do you have to file mortgage interest and taxes, and if you amend your taxes does this take longer to receive your refund?
You do not have to claim Mortgage Interest and Taxes on your return. These are an itemized deduction and many are not claiming them this year due to the higher standard deduction.
You are only required to report all of your income.
If you already filed your tax return, the refund is not delayed.
If you file an amended return, and have an additional refund coming, you can expect to wait approx. 8 weeks for that refund.
