Do I need turbo tax 2015 or 2016 to amend my 2015 year tax? The website suggested 2015, but i can't open the file with it, can only open with 2016 version.

The TurboTax tax data file can only be opened by the TurboTax software for the year of the data file.

The 2016 tax data file will have a file extension of .tax2016 and can only be opened by the TurboTax 2016 software.

The 2015 tax data file will have a file extension of .tax2015 and can only be opened by the TurboTax 2015 software.
