Yes, you should file an amended return because most 1098 forms will give you some kind of a deduction or credit depending on the information in your return.

I have getting mix information on this issue. Some sites say no and some say yes. If I do a amended return, what do I do with the refund coming to me? Can I spend it? Thanks.

A 1098 for mortgage interest?  A 1098T for tuition?  A 1098E for student loan interest?  What kind of 1098 are you asking about?

You do not need to file an amended tax return if you do not want to claim an additional  credit or deduction.

As @xmasbaby0 said, there is more than one type of 1098s. There's a 1098-E for student loan interest paid, a 1098-T for tuition and a 1098 for mortgage interest.

Depending on your other income, you may get a bigger refund by adding your 1098 to an amended return.

For instructions see How to amend (change or correct) a return you've already filed. If you do not see instructions for 2021, it means the 2021 amend section is not ready yet.

Sorry it is a 1098 mortgage interest. I have two 1098. One I entered, the other one I misplaced it and didn't enter and found it after I submitted the return and it is already accepted.

As ErnieS0 notes above, you don’t have to report your Form 1098 mortgage interest on your return.

But if it’ll help you qualify for itemized deductions, and especially if you claimed itemized deductions on your original return, you’d want to enter the data from the form into TurboTax.

In that event, an amendment would give you a tax benefit.

Please see the TurboTax Help article What's my standard deduction for 2021? to see the standard deduction amount you need to surpass to claim itemized deductions.
